XZN bits, commonly referred to as Triple Square bits. If you're working on a European car (especially Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes, or Porsche), you’ve likely realized these are non-negotiable for certain repairs. The Trap: People often mistake these for Torx or Double Hex. Using a Torx bit in an XZN bolt will almost certainly strip the bolt head instantly. Don't be stuck using the wrong tool.

These are small tools about 1.5 inches long and 1/4 drive.

Unlike a standard Torx bit (which has 6 points), an XZN bit has 12 equilateral points.

The 12-point design allows for a much higher torque application. Because there are more contact points, the force is distributed more evenly, which prevents the "cam-out" effect that strips screws.
