PORSCHE TOOLS

NUMBER P246

Porsche Spoiler Spanner Wrench

Rear Spoiler 996 Turbo + 997.1 Turbo/GT2 + 997.2 Turbo/S/GT2

Do you need to remove the rear spoiler from your 996 or 997 Turbo? If so, you will need this special release tool to do the job.

Special Tool overall length is approximately 170mm (6-1/2") and 5mm thick.

Pin wrench makes removal of the wing from the stock hydraulic rams easy.

Engaging the pin through the outer cylinder and grasping the inner slotted element is necessary(make sure the holes in the outer and inner cylinder are lined up and the pin keeps them together while turning).

Turn about 90 degrees clockwise to release, 90 degrees counterclockwise to lock

This tool is a must for 997 turbo wing removal (the factory used a thread locker).

FYI: Some people will wrap the wrench with tape so it doesn't scratch the piston, or some people will coat the tool with "Plasti Dip". Plasti Dip is a durable impact, and abrasion resistant Rubber coating (not included).

Note: This tool may or may not come with a rubber handle, depending on stock level at time of shipment.

Spreader Socket Tools 2

NUMBER 3424SET2

Spreader Socket Tools Long & Short

Two tools for A4 platform including Golf Jetta and Gti 337 20a.e. GTI 1999 to present.

Tools are Chrome vanadium steel body with a hardened spreading tips needed any time the strut needs to be separated from the wheel bearing housing.

Most common use would be changing/replacing struts, coil spring, or the entire strut assembly. You would also use this tool when servicing the wheel bearing.

You can easily remove strut from wheel bearing housing with one of these sockets. The wheel bearing housing clamps down very tight on the strut assembly-even with the bolt removed the housing is still firmly clamped to the strut.

This socket style  allows you to spread the housing where it's clamped on so the strut can be removed.

Working-end pieces are:

A. 5.5 x 8mm and

B. 5 x 7mm.

Both tools are 1/2" Drive.

Multi-Tooth Socket 2592

NUMBER 2592

Special Multi-Tooth Socket Tool for Porsche

This is a multi-tooth adapter or serrated socket/bit (commonly with 33 splines/teeth) designed specifically for removing and installing the alternator pulley (especially the freewheel or overrunning pulley, also called a clutch pulley or decoupler pulley) on many VW and Audi models. Used to hold or turn the pulley while loosening/tightening the central bolt. This prevents the alternator shaft from spinning during service. Common applications:VW models from around 1994 onward (e.g., Golf III/IV, Jetta, Passat, New Beetle, etc.).

Audi models (A3, TT, A4, and others with similar alternators).

Also fits some Seat and Skoda vehicles in the VAG lineup.

Many modern VW/Audi alternator pulleys have a one-way clutch (freewheel mechanism) to reduce belt vibration and improve efficiency. The pulley has internal serrations/splines instead of standard hex flats, so a regular socket won't work — you need this specialized 3400 tool.

Variations:The classic 3400 tool is the main multi-tooth adapter.

Note: There's sometimes a 3400/1 variant for newer applications (e.g., poly V-belt pulleys on later Audi A4 models from 2016+).

The Porsche reference number for this tool is 2592.

NUMBER 95740

Installation only by a trained professional for the intended application.

Improper installation can result in serious safety risks.

TOOLss does NOT provide any installation or troubleshooting advice(besides

any material that may or may not come with purchased item)

TESTIMONIAL FROM OUR SUPPLIER:

It's important to keep an eye on your belt tension, especially if you have a custom-sized swing arm.

cHECK vidEos ON yoo toob for more instructions on how to use this tool.

The ideal belt tension is between 30-50kg. Take several measurements as you rotate your wheel to identify the high and low spots. The low spot should be 30kg or more unless you have a low-power setup and do not experience any front tooth skipping. The high spot should be 50kg or less.

When you install a new belt, take it for a quick ride of a few minutes, using medium to low throttle or full throttle as long as the front pulley isn't skipping. Be gentle and gradually work up to full throttle during the 2 test rides. After a few minutes, return home and double-check the tension by re-measuring the high and low spots as described above. The belt tension typically decreases slightly during the first 2 rides but will maintain good tension for a long time afterward if you follow these steps.

If you experience any front tooth belt skipping, ease off and head home to increase the tension. If the tension is already at the 50kg max

NUMBER REMSET3

Set 3 Tools

Wheel lug nut (or bolt) cover removal tools, commonly used on cars (especially Volkswagen/Audi group vehicles, and a variety of other vehicles).

The large black plastic item at the top of the photo is a specialized puller/tweezer-style tool designed to grip and safely remove the plastic caps without scratching the wheels. It slides over the cap, hooks underneath, and pulls it off evenly.

The red-handled tool lower left is a basic hook puller for prying off lug nut covers.

The small metal wire tool (lower right) with a loop and hook is a simple removal key/pick, often included in factory tool kits (e.g., in the trunk with the spare tire tools) to hook into the cap and pop it off.

The caps themselves are decorative/protective plastic covers that snap over the actual metal lug nuts to give the wheels a cleaner look and protect against dirt/rust. They're common on alloy wheels and need to be removed before loosening the real lug nuts when changing tires.

Disc Brake Piston Reset Tool

NUMBER BRK-J

Disc Brake Piston Reset Tool / Brake Press Tool

Very sturdy tool for the safe resetting of disc brake pistons on vehicles with fixed caliper disc brakes / for putting the pistons back into the housing.

Tool is approximately 2 5/8" height plate-to-plate (top to bottom).

Each plate is approx 6.5mm thick depth of tool front to back

(inside) is 2 3/4 inches (69.85mm).

TESTIMONIAL:

When I attempted to replace the front brake pads on a 2001 Mercedes S430, I discovered that my old Piston Reset Tool (the one everyone has in their garage, sold everywhere under different brands for less than $10) just could not do the job. This is because the S430, like many other cars, has Dual Piston, Fixed Caliper brakes, which require a different Reset Tool (sometimes referred to as a Brake Pad Spreader).

When I went to Pep Boys, my salesman there told me that fixed calipers are a problem, and he did not have the tool for the job. I went to an independent parts store, which had a tool that had been hanging on their wall since 1979 (it looked like a miniature scissors jack with a long screw), but it could not have been inserted where it needed to be. NAPA had a catalog with a picture of something with a pistol grip on it that looked like it may or may not have worked. The Mercedes dealer can order a tool (MB # 000 589 52 43 00) for $250 that looks like it could be used 1,000 times before it breaks. The JO1 is more than sufficient.

Procedure was simple:

I took the cap off of the master cylinder under the hood, then jacked up the car and removed the wheels. The calipers remained bolted to the car throughout the procedure (of course, if I was replacing the rotors also, I think I would have had to remove the calipers). After removing the retaining pin and spring from behind the pads, I inserted the Reset Tool arms between the small exposed edges of the backing plates on the brake pads. Then I turned the handle on the tool and the arms pushed away from each other and started pushing the brake pads away from the rotor.

Once there was more space I put the arms of the tool against the face of the pads themselves and pushed the pads (and pistons) all the way back. The tools job was done; I then slid the old pads out, slid the now ones in, reinstalled the spring and pins and I was done (after checking fluid level and putting the cap back on the master cylinder).

I feel that I did receive a super tool which does the job perfectly and should last a DIY-er a long time. It does not take up much space in the tool box, and was also the least expensive option I found!
